Are you an interior designer, architect, planner, or material enthusiast eager to stay ahead of the curve? Mark your calendar: on 30 September 2025, the RAL Akademie in Bonn will host a full-day seminar, “Farben, Materialien & Trendscouting”, focusing on the colours, materials and design phenomena that will shape tomorrow’s spaces.
What the Workshop Covers
This workshop is designed to dive deep into future trends (2026 and beyond), giving participants a hands-on and immersive experience with:
-
Trendscouting methods: How to systematically discover and evaluate emerging colour, material, and design trends (from fairs, literature, social media etc.).
-
Understanding how colours harmonise, and how to combine them (or use contrast) in architectural and interior design settings.
-
Identifying and applying design phenomena — recurring styles, cross-sector influences, and evolving aesthetic preferences.
-
Exploration of material and surface trends for 2026+, with attention to sustainability, innovation, multisensory qualities.
-
Practical workshops: creating moodboards for real project typologies (offices, retail, health, hospitality etc.), selecting materials, surfaces, colours to evoke particular atmospheres.
-
A platform for sharing and discussing these concepts — participants will present moodboards and receive feedback.

We are pleased to announce that Kandes Design Surface Panels will be one of the materials showcased during the workshop as part of the material trend segment.
Why Kandes 3D Wall Panels Are a Strong Match for This Workshop’s Theme
-
Innovative Materiality: Kandes Panels represent a modern material solution, offering attractive aesthetics (texture, finish, colour depth) that align with the kind of surface and material trends discussed in this seminar. Their ability to deliver refined surface behaviour adds to their relevance when exploring new material possibilities for interiors.
-
Versatility in Design: These panels can be adapted to different project types (offices, hospitality, retail, etc.), which matches the workshop’s focus on creating moodboards for diverse typologies. Designers will benefit from seeing how Kandes Panels perform in different atmospheres and lighting conditions, combined with different colour harmonies.
-
Sustainability & Durability: Kandes 3D Gypsum Panels incorporate sustainable practices or materials , this ties into the workshop’s emphasis on future trends that respond to environmental concerns. Materials that offer both aesthetic value and material responsibility are increasingly significant in trend forecasts.
-
Sensory & Surface Qualities: As the workshop explores not just colours but also textures, finishes, and multi-sensory experience, Kandes Decorative Wall Panels provide tangible examples of how surface texture, light reflection, tactile feel can contribute to mood, perception, and atmosphere in a space.
By presenting Kandes Panels, participants will gain direct exposure to a material that is not only visually compelling but also meaningful in sustainability, surface innovation, and adaptability — exactly the kind of material that helps designers bring trend insights into real, buildable, beautiful design.
If you work in interior design, architecture, planning, or material specification and want to stay at the forefront of what’s next in colour, material, and design phenomena — this workshop is for you. Gain new tools, explore inspiring materials (including Kandes Panels), and leave with concrete ideas for integrating future trends into your work.
